Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is a combination of football scholarships, family involvement as well as community involvement. His family's first name is he's the youngest out of nine kids raised in Eufala by Lucious Selmon. He was also one of three siblings who represented Oklahoma on the field of football. All three brothers were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in country by Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. In his three years as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. In his role as an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third season in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree in education. Lee Roy spent ten hours a week on volunteer work during his college years. Following college, he moved to Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were the all-pro 3 times, and began an entrepreneurial career. He was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked in these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as a member of the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the 10 most notable young men across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6-2. In his time at for college, he was the head coach of the 1975 team. In 1993, he was named as associate director at the University of South Florida. In 1988, Selmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He also made an appearance in the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Selmons' parents Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor who presented this award.
