Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 hungry kids who would grow with them eventually. She took on the role in 1967. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's show due to the commercial success of her solo songs like Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums.
